Skopelos tops the list of cinematic destinations for Germans!

Skopelos emerges as a leading destination in a new original list for German fans of film tourism. “Following in the footsteps of Mamma Mia” is the theme of a recent survey by the German-speaking travel platform HolidayCheck.de, which records the five most beautiful locations in Europe associated with the film adaptation of the timeless musical Mamma Mia, based on travelers’ impressions. Among enchanting regions of Greece, fairytale-like places in Croatia, and points of interest in London, Skopelos ranks first. According to the international website, “the lush and fertile Skopelos forms the ‘heart’ of the first film, exuding the feeling of a place that seems to have emerged directly from the musical’s scenery. Filming took place in iconic locations on the island, including the chapel of Agios Ioannis in Kastri, which stands impressively atop a rock with panoramic views of the Aegean Sea.”
