3rd Cycling Route: Skopelos – Neo Klima – Delphi

After enjoying the local delicacies in the town of Skopelos, such as the traditional cheese pie, we start from the port towards the beach of Stafylos. We go uphill for about 3 kilometers. At this point, there is a good spot for a break – we also have the opportunity to admire the beautiful view. We then go on our way to Agnontas, which is the second port of Skopelos. At the port, we will see the statue of Agnontas, an Olympic winner of ancient times. We go uphill through a verdant landscape, until we reach the beach of Panormos. In Panormos, we can grab a coffee and relax for a while, before we continue our route. The next village on this route is Neo Klima, where we leave the coastal road and turn right towards the area of Delphi, the largest mountainous area of the island. The highest point of the asphalt road is at a height of 460 meters, near the church of Saint Riginos. At an altitude of 300 meters there is an impressive centuries-old plane tree right next to a fountain. The location offers incredible view. The uphill slopes range from 5-15%, which makes it the most difficult asphalt uphill level on the island. After the first 500 meters of the descent, we reach the junction for Sentoukia. We suggest that you turn right, on a road that leads to Saint Triada – this is a 800-meter dirt road (suitable for road bikes). The route is suitable for road bikes and gravel bikes also. The duration of the route is about 1:30 to 2:30 hours depending on your physical condition.
