Agnontas

The pine coveredAgnontas, named after the Peparethian Olympic champion, Hagnon, lies just 10 minutes away by car from the town of Skopelos (8km). Legend has it that when Hagnon returned triumphant from Olympia in 596 BC, he disembarked at this bay from his ship. In his honor, his face was minted on a silver coin of the classical period.

Agnontas is a wonderful beach harbor, where pine trees become one with the sea, while the sunset puts you in an unforgettable romantic mood. Agnontas is also a beautiful cove with anchored fishing boats waiting for the night to fall so that they can sail to the open sea and catch fish and squids (European flying squids), which visitors and tourists can enjoy at one of the nearby taverns.
