Literary Spring – Nikos Markou
Nikos Markou (1951-2009) was a celebrated ceramist who, through his life and art, made the island of Skopelos a cultural hub and meeting place for people of the arts, letters, and culture. In order to celebrate his legacy, the Municipality of Skopelos has re-launched theLiterature Festival he used to run, and revamped it to make it more international. The annual International Skopelos Literary Festival “Literary Spring-Nikos Markou” takes place every spring, on the island of Skopelos, with the aim of connecting the old with the new and of building a literary bridge between Skopelos, Europe ,and the wider world.
